Today we had the pleasure of a visit from the Whitecourt Trustees, David & Jeanine, and they particularly enjoyed the end-of-year BTC campout! The kids were thrilled to show them their tents, and it was a great chance to share the excitement of the camp experience.

Today we wrapped up the school year with our final assembly and it was full of energy, fun, and Canadian spirit! Staff and students dressed in their best red and white for our Canada Day-themed celebration.
We expressed heartfelt thanks to the MOOSE Society and our School Council for their ongoing support. Our volunteers truly breathe life into our building and we couldn’t be more grateful for all that they do!
We also said goodbye and congratulations to Ms. Fortin and Mme Shaver, who are both retiring after years of dedication and care. You will be greatly missed!
Room 5-3 took home the Golden Garbage Can award for keeping their space tidy all month long; way to go!
The assembly was packed with excitement, featuring Minute to Win It challenges where students competed for water guns and candy, followed by a hilarious staff table surfing challenge that had everyone cheering.
We ended with our daily wellness movement; this time with a twist- crab walking out of the gym as one big, happy team. What a send-off to summer!

A huge thank you to our amazing MOOSE Society- Whitecourt for the generous taco and bag-free lunch for all staff and students. We are incredibly grateful for your support and kindness.

Our final Mass of the 2024-2025 school year was nothing short of a blessing. Father Michael’s joyful spirit always uplifts us, and this Mass was no exception. With the beautiful music ministry led by Mr. Detka and Mr. Callaghan, we truly felt the power of being “Pilgrims of Hope” as we concluded this chapter.
Grateful for this community, the faith we share, and the hope we carry forward into the summer. Here's to more moments of grace and joy in the year ahead!

t’s an exciting week at École St. Mary and across Alberta as the Edmonton Oilers look to bring the Stanley Cup back to Canada for the first time since 1993.
At school, we’re wrapping up a busy and fun-filled year. Field trips continue, provincial achievement exams are almost complete, Jays Care Baseball is in its final week, and we’re looking forward to our grade six farewell on Friday.
Please note: if the Oilers force a Game 7, we may need to adjust the farewell schedule. We’ll keep you posted with any changes. Let’s go Oilers!
-Monday, June 16: Grade five field trip to the Telus World of Science.
-Tuesday, June 17: Grade six provincial achievement exam (Math).
-Wednesday, June 18: Year-end school Mass at 10:45 (everyone welcome), grade six provincial achievement exam (Social), free hot lunch for all students and staff provided by our amazing MOOSE Society- Whitecourt & Jays Care after school.
-Thursday, June 19: PowerSchool closes & Jays Care after school until 4:15pm.
-Friday, June 20: Celebrating National Indigenous Peoples Day & grade six farewell @ 6:00pm.

From all the staff at École St. Mary, we celebrate and appreciate the fathers, grandfathers, and father figures who inspire, support, and love unconditionally.
